How it started

A den, not a coffee shrine.

The first room opened on Home Street in Tollcross, a narrow little space that used to be something else entirely, stripped back to stone and brick and filled with reclaimed timber, Edison bulbs and deep leather Chesterfields that were built for lingering, not turning tables.

The rule was simple from day one: no rushing anyone out the door. Grab a window stool for a quick one to take away, or disappear into a corner with a laptop, a book and a rose hot chocolate for the whole afternoon. Both are exactly what the room is for.

A sister room followed in Stockbridge, same feel, a little more space to spread out in. And most recently, the den concept crossed the Atlantic to a room on 7th Avenue in Manhattan, proof that a good armchair and a strong flat white travel further than you'd think.
